    About the i-Chek

    • Lightweight, portable
    • Uses two AAA batteries (included)
    • Useful for careful eyelid cleaning
    • Handy for checking your scleral lenses after insertion in case of bubbles under the lenses

    Rebecca's description

I have been testing products for use examining my lenses after insertion (in case of bubbles), and still haven't found quite the right thing. For me personally, i-Chek's lights are too bright, making it hard for me see my lenses well enough... but then, I don't know how much of my problem is also presbyopia! I know, however, that there are others for example in our Facebook group who also find it too bright.

However... for many people, this tool clearly works very well, and as we all know by now, different tools work for different people! I have heard from plenty of who use this regularly, so I decided to stock it.

      Helpful

I like the i-Chek for detecting bubbles, I’m not able to detect as well on the left eye though!

      Threw it away

This was not any good for me. Really couldn't see anything with it. Had to hold it right up to eye to see anything at all and what did see was not clear. Had purchased to help with looking to see if air bubbles were present when inserting scleral contacts. Would not recommend.

      i-Check Illuminated Mirror

I only have been wearing sclerals for 6 months, but have worn either hard or soft contact lenses for over 40 years. Putting in contacts was not the issue for me. Seeing bubbles reliably with only a mirror and the light on my phone (as my eye care professional suggested) was not working for me.

This mirror is my saving grace! This product helped me make peace with my sclerals. I recently took a trip and this mirror came along too!

      Worthless

Mirror is worthless for checking for bubbles under contacts or for anything else.

      Disappointed

I really wanted to like this product, but I think it needs some design improvements. The concept is sound--hold it up to your eye and check for bubbles or other issues using the built-in mirror and lights. It falls a little short in practice, however. The mirrored surface does not seem to be reflective enough, and the image seen is quite dark--so dark, in fact, that it's difficult to see anything with enough clarity to be useful. I'll stick with my small mirror and pen light, which haven't failed me yet.
