    About SimplyTouch Eye Drop Applicator

    • Alternative way to apply drops
    • Helps economize on costly drops
    • Easy to apply without tilting head
    • Can be used with prescription drops and over-the-counter drops

    Description (by Rebecca)

I have seen a lot of eyedrop applicator contraptions over the years. This the first and only one that I've actually liked. I think it's a terrific idea, well implemented. I have not talked to many customers who have used it, but those who have, by and large have loved it. You can control exactly how much you apply, you don't get the mess of spillage, you don't have to tilt your head back, and you can save a lot of money on expensive Rx drops. You can also keep your glasses on while applying drops.

    Suggested best uses

    • Economizing: You can apply a much smaller drop. Did you know that your eye surface can only hold a very small amount anyway - when you apply a full size drop, much of it just drains out and is wasted. You can use SimplyTouch to control the size of the drop you apply.
    • Difficulty tilting head back due to neck/back issues: You can apply drops using SimplyTouch without tilting your head.
    • Don't want to hold an applicator over the eyes: For some people, squeezing a vial or bottle directly into the eye bears special risks of abrading the eye with the applicator, either because of vision limitations or physical dexterity or tremor issues. SimplyTouch lets you apply the drops in a different and lower risk way.

    Limitations

I find the SimplyTouch wand a little short.

    Description (from the manufacturer's literature)

A reusable eye drop applicator for improved eye medication compliance.
    • May apply with or without glasses on.
    • Cost Effective: Extends drops up to 50% per bottle.
    • Eye drop locks into place once on applicator
    • Better control of amount and placement of drops
    • Easy to clean and store after use.
    • No need to tilt your head back.

    Usage and Care

    What is SimplyTouch used for?

SimplyTouch is used to apply eyedrops with a special wand rather than squeezing them directly into the eye from the bottle or vial.

    Instructions for use

    1. Wash your hands.
    2. Remove applicator from case, wash with soap and water, rinse and dry.
    3. Hold the eye drop bottle at about a 45 degree angle. Apply one drop onto round flat tip of applicator. Do not touch bottle to applicator.
    4. Staring intently at your eye in the mirror, carefully bring the eye drop up to the eye. With the other hand, pull down the cheek to expose lower eyelid. Let eye drop touch and transfer onto the inside lower eyelid.

    Cleaning and care

Wash your hands before each use. Remove applicator from case, wash with soap and water, rinse and dry before each use.

    Love this little thing!

So...as many know, some of the multi-dose preservative free drops can be difficult to dispense. My drop (Optase MGD Advanced) becomes much more difficult to squeeze out of the bottle once it is about half empty. My neck was getting very sore being tilted back for up to a minute, twice per day, while waiting for the drop to finally come out of the bottle. When I saw this applicator, I thought I'd give it a try and I'm happy to report that it works very very well. Yes, I still have to wait for the drop to come out of the bottle, but I don't have to be hurting my neck while I wait. I was skeptical but the drop really does NOT fall off the paddle until I touch it to the inside of the lower lid. Thank you so much for carrying this!

    amazing invention

The eye doctor that invented this sure knew what he was doing. This little eye guide applier is perfect. No more tilting my head back, no more wasted eye drops. It works just like the instructions say. Also, this company is wonderful. Very fast shipping, packaged very nice. It is my go to for eye products from now on.

    Eye drop applicator

This absolutely delivers! Surprised again by the accurate description of it. I use less product by using this applicator. I’m considering purchasing several more as backups.

    Helpful tool

I am not good at putting in eyedrops - difficulty in leaning back my head, aiming the drops properly, squeezing the applicator too tightly. This little tool helps me a great deal - no longer do the drops stream down my cheeks, not only wasting product, but doing an insufficient job of easing the dryness. Very glad to have it.
