    This is OCuSOFT's answer to Avenova, but contains 0.02% hypochlorous acid rather than 0.01%. Don't get too excited - more is not always better! On the plus side, I have heard from many people for whom this product is doing a good job, so if you are wanting to experiment with other blepharitis products, this may be a good one to try. 

    According to OCuSOFT, hypochlorous acid products fall into an FDA category which can be marketed either OTC or by prescription. Avenova is prescribed, whereas Hypochlor is not. Make of that what you will, but please always remember to keep your doctor in the loop about what you are using!

    Description (from the manufacturer's literature)

    • Mild enough for daily use
    • Zero eye irritation
    • Manages bacterial load

    Intended for cleaning and removing foreign material and debris from the application site including microorganisms, immediate care of minor irritations to the skin, cleansing minor cuts, minor scrapes and minor burns. It can also be used for moistening absorbent wound dressing.

    Uses

    • For cleansing and removing foreign material and debris from application site

    Directions

    • Spray solution onto lint-free pad or swab until moistened
    • Close eyes and gently apply to eyelids and eyelashes using side to side motions
    • Use twice daily or as recommended by your health care professional

    Warnings

    FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY

    When using this product

    • do not spray directly into the eyes

    Stop and ask a doctor 

    • if condition persists or worsens for longer than 7 days

    Keep out of reach of children

    If swallowed get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

    Other Information

    • Use only if tamper evident seal on carton is intact
    • Store at room temperature (between 65F-75F) away from direct sunlight and heat
    • Do not freeze
    • Do not use after expiration date

    Trumps Avenova

    I was formerly using Avenova but then I discovered that Ocusoft has double the concentration and even more fluid ounces so I tried a bottle and I got more debris from just one use. Of course I switched and my Dry eye doctor agreed with me. Now I will get this spray delivered to me on schedule.
