Retain ophthalmic ointment
I recently reviewed eye ointments on the Dry Eye Shop website. Important information is also posted and in email newsletters provided by Rebecca. I use ointment at night coupled with a mask to retain moisture/reduce drafts to combat an incompletely closing eyelid; a result of surgical rebuild to address trichaiasis. The cornea dries out despite getting up several times each night to rehydrate. Rebecca indicated Retain was made without lanolin alcohol. This was important as I have a sensitivity to wool (itching AKA pruitis). I had been using Puralube veterinary ointment but my source is no longer carrying it and the company has stopped manufacturing it. One item I also found useful from Rebecca was if Retain was too fluid to refrigerate the product. It works! I find the additional information and nuggets of advice most helpful.
