I haven't used these, nor am I likely to. But... they make a lot of sense for a number of situations.
The whole idea is a way to secure the lens to do a proper "rub" cleaning. Me, I can rub clean a lens any time with my right index finger and left palm.
But what about all the people out there with lovely long nails who really don't want to trim one down just to be able to use scleral lenses? And what about people with very rough finger pads, who worry they could scratch a lens with their fingertip?
So imagine putting the lens on one of these little green pads, then using a cotton (CAREFUL! make sure it's 100% cotton!) Q tip and your favorite lens cleaning solution. Presto, doable.
CAUTION: DON'T do this, i.e. do not use either the pad, or the Q tips, or both, without explicit permission from your eye doctor for your specific lenses. Using the wrong approach to lens cleaning may strip off special coatings.
Patented Cleaner Accessory Pad
Provides “non-abrasive” lens cleaning when used in a gentle scrubbing motion with any liquid contact lens cleaner recommended by an Eye Care Professional. It is reusable and washable for all soft, hard, and gas permeable contact lenses. The CLEANER ACCESSORY Pad™ will please even the toughest heavy depositors and offers superb down around cleaning for RGP and soft lenses.
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ON THE INSERT. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR LENS PROVIDER TO ENSURE INSTRUCTIONS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR LENS TYPE!
Use about 6-8 drops of your cleaning solution on the pad.
Place side #1 on pad and gently rub for about 20 seconds, rinse side #1 with saline solution, turn lens over and clean side #2. Rinse Side #2 and repeat cleaning procedure for opposite lens. Avoid fingernails from coming in contact with the lens. (For rigid lens see step 4.)
To clean concave (inside curvature) place onne finger under the pad and gently press. [This makes better sense when you see the picture in the insert.]
CAUTION: IF GREEN CLEANING ACCESSORY PAD IS DROPPED ON FLOOR REPLACE IMMEDIATELY WITH A NEW CLEAN ACCESSORY PAD TO AVOID EY EINFECTION. ALWAYS DISINFECT LENS AFTER WASHING.

How to use your Easy Eyes Cleaner Accessory
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING SOFT (hydrophilic) CONTACT LENSES
1. Always wash and rinse your hands before you handle your soft lenses or THE CLEANER ACCESSORY. Eye Irritation may result if cosmetics, lotions, soaps, creams or deodorants come in contact with your lenses.
2. Clean THE CLEANER ACCESSORY before each use by rinsing thoroughly with a steady stream of warm tap water. Direct a fairly forceful stream of warm tap water over cleaning accessory pad to assure removal of any dirt, dust, or other foreign debris that could scratch your lenses. After warm water rinse, thoroughly rinse cleaning accessory pad with normal saline or disinfecting solution. After rinsing, run finger over cleaning accessory pad surface to squeeze out excess solution. IMPORTANT: WHEN WASHING THE CLEANER ACCESSORY DO NOT USE ANY SOAPS, DETERGENTS OR OTHER HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS.
3. Place a small amount (6-8 drops) of soft lens daily cleaning solution on a cleaning accessory pad. CLEAN SIDE #1 of right lens. Place soft lens (right lens) on thumb tip and gently rub lens on a cleaning pad (often users will find that index finger tip works better for holding and rubbing lens). A back and forth rubbing movement is better than a circular motion. Rocking and tipping the fingertip while rubbing the lens will ensure that edges of lens are being cleaned as well. Rubbing each lens for twenty seconds is usually sufficient to remove mucous and tear film from lenses. Avoid having fingernails come in contact with lens during cleaning. Thoroughly rinse side #1 with saline solution. Turn lens over and repeat cleaning procedure on side #2 of right lens. After side #2 is cleaning, rinse thoroughly and repeat this entire procedure with left lens.
4. After cleaning, thoroughly rinse lenses with recommended rinsing solution and disinfect your lenses. Use the recommended disinfecting (heat or chemical) procedure as described in your Patient Instruction Booklet or as your eye care practitioner recommends. IMPORTANT: YOUR LENSES MUST BE DISINFECTED EACH TIME YOU CLEAN THEM. CLEANING IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE MUCOUS AND FILM FROM LENS SURFACE. DISINFECTING IS NECESSARY TO DESTROY HARMFUL GERMS.
5. THE CLEANER ACCESSORY must be cleaned after each use. Thoroughly rinse cleaning accessory pad under warm tap water. Squeeze out excess water from cleaning pad and give cleaning accessory pad a final rinse with normal saline or disinfecting solution depending on disinfecting method used. Squeeze out cleaning accessory pad. Let THE CLEANER ACCESSORY air dry until next use.
IMPORTANT: The disposable cleaning accessory pad must be discarded and replaced each week for optimal cleaning efficiency.
CAUTION: IF GREEN CLEANING ACCESSORY PAD IS DROPPED ON FLOOR REPLACE IMMEDIATELY WITH A NEW CLEAN ACCESSORY PAD TO AVOID EYE INFECTION.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING GAS PERMEABLE OR HARD CONTACT LENSES. (NOT SOFT OR HYDROPHILIC)
1. Always wash and rinse your hands before you handle your gas permeable or hard contact lenses. Eye Irritation may result if cosmetics, lotions, soaps, creams or deodorants come in contact with your lenses.
2. Clean THE CLEANER ACCESSORY before each use by rinsing thoroughly with a steady stream of warm tap water. Direct a fairly forceful stream of warm tap water over cleaning pad to assure removal of any dirt, dust, or other foreign debris that could scratch your lenses. Use cool tap water as a final rinse.
Clean side #1 (inside curvature) of right lens. Place side #1 on index finger tip. Place index finger (of hand holding THE CLEANER ACCESSORY) on underside of brush and gently press up on underside of cleaning accessory pad. Also rocking and tipping the finger tip while rubbing the lens will ensure that edges of lens are being cleaned as well. Twenty seconds of rubbing each lens is usually sufficient to remove mucous and tear film from lens surface. Thoroughly rinse side #1 with saline solution. Turn lens over and repeat cleaning procedure on side #2 of right lens. After side #2 is cleaning, rinse thoroughly and repeat this entire procedure with left lens.
4. After cleaning your gas permeable or hard contact lenses thoroughly, rinse lens with water or the recommended rinsing solution. Condition (disinfect) lenses are described in your Patient Instruction Booklet or as your eyecare practitioner recommends. NOTE: Never use heat or thermal disinfection on your gas permeable or hard contact lenses. IMPORTANT: YOUR LENSES MUST BE CONDITIONED (disinfected) EACH TIME YOU CLEAN THEM. CLEANING IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE MUCOUS AND FILM FROM LENS SURFACE. CONDITIONING IS NECESSARY TO PREVENT THE GROWTH OF HARMFUL GERMS.
5. THE CLEANER ACCESSORY must be cleaned after each use. Thoroughly rinse cleaning accessory pad under warm tap water. Squeeze out excess water from cleaning pad. Let THE CLEANER ACCESSORY air dry and store in a safe dry place until next use.
WARNING: IF PAIN OR IRRITATION PERSISTS WITH LENS WEAR, REMOVE LENS AND CONSULT YOUR PRACTITIONER OR PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELE.
