As the name suggests, this is a lid scrub product with a 'booster shot" of anti-bacterial action. When ordinary lid cleansing isn't enough, you want to be looking at the ones with a little more kick. Preferences and tolerances for the various lid scrub products varies a lot, and as with all other things dry eye, your mileage may vary. Preferences vary between the pads and the foam, too - this one is available both ways. 

The problem may not be your eyes, but rather your eyelids. OCuSOFT Lid Scrub PLUS is a leave-on eyelid cleanser that effectively relieves irritation by removing oil, debris, pollen and other contaminants.

What are OCuSOFT Lid Scrub PLUS Pre-Moistened Pads used for?

OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus pads are used for by those who need a little more boost beyond ordinary lid hygiene products, for example with chronic but mild to moderate blepharitis. If you have blepharitis/meibomian gland dysfunction, consult your doctor about whether you can benefit from a lid hygiene product and if so which specific product they recommend. There are many products available, most over the counter but some by prescription only. 

Instructions for use

  1. For external use only. Wash hands and remove contact lenses prior to use. 
  2. Unfold remoistened pad and wrap over finger. 
  3. Close eye and gently cleanse lid using side-to-side strokes. Do not touch eye directly. 
  4. Repeat for other lid. Leave on for best results. No rinsing necessary.

Great all-purpose

I'm trying a bunch of different eye wipes just for fun. These are great all-arounders - no rinse needed, great for every day, great for travel, the one to have if you have just one. For me, the light texture of the OCuSOFT wipes is a positive -- it helps get the gunk out and I feel it may help prevent blepharitis flare ups. If you want something super smooth and gentle, these might not be the pads for you. On the other hand, if you really want to experience what too rough feels like, try the CVS knockoffs! (But seriously, don't.) As with all of these, the downside is cost.

Most portable lid scrub

Best lid scrub for traveling as I drop them in my eye pouch and off I go. When my eyes feel crusty I open one up and wipe one eye side to side then use the other side of the wipe to clean my other eye. No need to find a sink to rinse off. So convenient especially when I’m in a car as a passenger.

Great for extremely dry/irritated eyes

The best quality of OCuSoft Lid Scrub Plus is that you can leave it on your eyes. Great for when your eyes need that extra moisturizer or you are just feeling lazy. But you need to be really gentle when scrubbing your lids or else the pad will feel scratchy and irritate your eyes even more.

Why is that? Well, OCuSoft Original formula contains sodium trideceth sulfate which, like sodium lauryl sulfate so commonly used in shampoos and other beauty products, creates foam and increases viscosity. So if my lids are particularly gunked up, the original formula tends to do a better job at removing that stuff, leaving my eyes feeling more refreshed. But if my eyes are already super irritated before I begin my lid cleaning routine, I would chose OCuSoft Plus pads.
