  • Sports goggle, doubling as... dry eye protection
  • Deep foam seal over each eye
  • Matte black frame
  • Fits over glasses up to 5 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall
  • Available with clear or smoke lenses

This product is ideal for... biking and skiing. Why would anybody wear it for dry eye? Well, the fact is, they wouldn't if they didn't have to. But if you have a need and nothing else is working, then you try this.

Who should consider trying these:

Guard Dogs Commander 1, Evader 1 or Evader 2 may be for you if:

  • You need pain relief. Period.
  • You need a really effective budget moisture chamber that will fit over your glasses.
  • You wear glasses, and you need a way to test out the concept of a moisture chamber and see whether it will actually WORK without having to spend $500 for prescription moisture chamber glasses just to find out.
  • You need something from home. Or can close your office door. Or just don't care, so long as it gets your eyes more comfortable.

They work very, very well. For some people in severe pain, home-bound, or unable to read, these can seriously make all the difference in the world.

Compare Commander 1 vs Evader 1 vs Evader 2?

  • Lens style: Evader 1 has a lens per eye, Evader 2 and Commander 1 have a ski-goggle-style single lens.
  • Sizing: From smallest to largest, Commander 1, Evader 1, Evader 2.
  • Vision: The Evader 1 is going to have somewhat more limited vision (bit more of the tunnel-vision effect) due to a seal around each eye.

Limitations

  • Aesthetics.
  • Weight. They're not terribly heavy, but much more so than regular glasses, and a lot of people, especially those with dry eye and fibromyalgia, have a low tolerance for any weight on their face.
  • Strap, rather than temples.
  • The foam padding doesn't go all the way around - there is a gap for breathability under the strap. Since it's covered it's often not an issue, but some people fill that gap with extra foam.

Evader 1 goggles can be worn by themselves, as an over the glass goggle (OTG) for small to medium sized glasses or have Rx lenses put in them.

Guard dog evader 1

I have bought these struggles in the past and they were awesome I have chronic dry eye and they worked absolutely perfect with my corrective lenses on with them no fogging and yes they do have tunnel vision but I have tunnel vision myself and they seem to work absolutely perfect and I still deal with my inability of peripheral vision.

guard dogs

I have worn guard dogs for over a year. I wear them everyday as I walk my dog, go on holidays, go shopping, whatever. They protect my eyes from the wind. The smoked aren't great as sunglasses but with a peaked ballcap they work well. I use electric black tape to cover the top holes on very windy days. Other wise they do the trick. Not the most flattering but hey if you want to continue with your activities they are a must. Not great for driving, no peripheral vision. Fit well over my glasses.
