Four years after its US launch in multi-dose preservative-free bottles, Optase Dry Eye Intense is now available in single-use vials.
This follows a trend among major brands which launched a new drop as MDPF but found the market still clamoring for vials. There are many reasons for that, including the bottles being potentially harder to use if you have arthritis. So, it's good to have options. Meantime, back to Optase Dry Eye Intense. I think of this drop as a hidden gem that deserves to be better known. In composition, it seems pretty similar to Oasis Tears Plus - similar amount of glycerin, and my understanding is that both have the higher molecular weight sodium hyaluronate that seems to matter for some of us more symptomatic types.
Now that Optase Intense is available in vials, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest that Oasis Tears Plus users try it (if you haven't ever before). While the bottle versions of Optase and Oasis are the same size, the vials are same type but filled to a different level. Optase has more (0.5mL compared to 0.3mL for Oasis). So, if you happened to like Optase Intense just as well, you might get a bit more bang for your buck. No offense to Oasis, of whom I am a huge fan.
