    About Guard-Dogs Evader 2 FogStopper

    • Sports goggle, doubling as dry eye protection
    • Deep foam seal over eye area
    • Fits over glasses up to 5 5/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall
    • Matte black frame
    • Available with clear or smoke lenses

    Description (Rebecca's)

This product is ideal for... biking and skiing. Why would anybody wear it for dry eye? Well, the fact is, they wouldn't if they didn't have to. But if you have a need and nothing else is working, then you try this.

    Who should consider trying these:

Guard Dogs Commander 1, Evader 1 or Evader 2 may be for you if:

    • You need pain relief. Period.
    • You need a really effective budget moisture chamber that will fit over your glasses.
    • You wear glasses, and you need a way to test out the concept of a moisture chamber and see whether it will actually WORK without having to spend $500 for prescription moisture chamber glasses just to find out.
    • You need something from home. Or can close your office door. Or just don't care, so long as it gets your eyes more comfortable.

They work very, very well. For some people in severe pain, home-bound, or unable to read, these can seriously make all the difference in the world.

Compare Commander 1 vs Evader 1 vs Evader 2?

    • Lens style: Evader 1 has a lens per eye, Evader 2 and Commander 1 have a ski-goggle-style single lens.
    • Sizing: From smallest to largest, Commander 1, Evader 1, Evader 2.
    • Vision: The Evader 1 is going to have somewhat more limited vision (bit more of the tunnel-vision effect) due to a seal around each eye.

      Limitations

      • Aesthetics.
      • Weight. They're not terribly heavy, but considerably more so than regular glasses, and a lot of people, especially those with dry eye and fibromyalgia, have a low tolerance for any weight on their face.
      • Strap, rather than temples.
      • The foam padding doesn't go all the way around - there is a gap for breathability under the strap. Since it's covered it's often not an issue, but some people fill that gap with extra foam.

      Description (Manufacturer's)

Evader 2 goggles can be worn by themselves or as an over the glass goggle (OTG) for small to large sized glasses.

Effective for me, but foam doesn't last

I think that these guard dogs do a good job of keeping wind and air movement off of my dry eyeballs. There is enough gap (without being too much) to prevent condensation of the lenses. These fit very nicely over my prescription eyeglasses. I did have to measure my prescription eyeglasses first, to make sure that they would fit inside, so recommend that to anybody who is considering these. There are two downsides to these goggles. One is that because these are so big, people stare at you when you wear them. That's a little disconcerting, but I can't control what people think, so, I do my best not to let that bother me. The second downside is that the foam seal does not last and it deteriorates as does the adhesive that keeps it in place. So, the goggles are really only good for about a year and a half of use before they start to fall apart. For that reason, I'm knocking off one star.

      Well made eyewear

I got these because I wanted to wear them at night and try to let my eyes rest while watching tv, and yes, dare I say try to sleep with them on. 😂 Desperate times, desperate measures. They are a lot more comfortable than what I was expecting. I obviously couldn’t get comfy in bed with them on.

I will however be using these while I groom dogs! These will keep the dander and hair particles away from my precious eyes! My only concern is hair finding its way in the padding surrounding the frames, but I will just have to be extra careful taking them off and storing them right away while not in use.

      Guard-Dogs are great.

They are very effective particularly in the car w/the air on or the windows open.

Good outside on a windy day too. I like them because they help shield my eyes.

No glamorous for sure but I trade that off for comfort. I have extremely dry eyes.

      grateful for this product

These goggles made it possible for me to get outside in the cold and windy Alaska winter. I needed some dry eye protection that would fit over my prescription glasses. Without these goggle tears would be streaming down my face from the cold bite of the wind. But with these goggles I was able to get outside and ski, walk, even bike in harsh conditions. It wasn't a perfect seal to my face, and there was some fogging when I stopped moving or wore a gaiter over my face, but all manageable. I am very grateful for this product
