Used once, super thick, felt uncomfortable on my eye lid.
Added January 2022
I've been slowly adding a few skin care products from trusted brands (Eye Eco, We Love Eyes) to the shop because we hear pretty regularly from people whose skin around their eyes is suffering from all the products that have to use in their eyes and on their eyelids. And the manufacturer describes these as "Safe for meibomian oil gland health (ideal for MGD & dry eyes)". So here it is.
WLE's AM Eyelid Gel and PM Eyelid Butter (the one you're looking at) are basically companion products. The AM gel is water-based for faster absorption while the PM eyelid butter is oil-based for longer retention overnight. I had to kind of chuckle over the names though because while the PM one is called butter, the AM one looks exactly the color of the vegan ghee from my local Trader Joe's. (PM, incidentally, is a kind of lovely bluish greenish opalescent thing, quite striking when you swipe a stripe of it just below your eyes.)
As you know, we're not a skin care shop. And as you may also know if you've been following me, I'm definitely not a skin care products connoisseur. In fact, I am barely, rarely even a skin care products user. So the nuances of fancy eye goop, beyond the prices and pretty packaging, are most definitely entirely lost on me. And since I do not have a skin care goal to achieve (or problem that I care about troubleshooting), I'm not in a position to assess whether a new product "works" for me.
Nevertheless, this non-connoisseur dutifully tried both AM and PM on and off for a few weeks, and I'm still using them now and then, more out of curiosity now than anything else. They're both pleasant. PM is stickier than AM but even AM is quite viscous and sticks around quite awhile. For context, though, almost anything on my face will feel heavy and sticky to me because normally when I use a moisturizer, which is NOT often (though who knows, it might be by the time I get around to revising this description - after all, I'm almost 53) I use Clinique Moisture Surge, which is super lightweight and disappears very rapidly.
I liked the applicator, though I have no idea how it compares to anything else :)
