    Description (by Rebecca)

I first stocked this product in 2015. To me, it looked and felt the thing that held the jewel-shaped hard candy when I was a kid. But there's a lot of people out there that have difficulty with lens insertion and need creative solutions.

In these past few years I've had more than enough feedback from actual users of the ring applicator to indicate it's an extremely useful tool for many people, though - like everything - not everyone.

I heard from a customer in 2018 with 15mm lenses who had difficulty with the lens not coming off the applicator. I contacted the manufacturer and they recommended trying the one with the smaller bowl - for mini sclerals and hybrids - so we are now stocking that one as well, and to be on the safe side I'm going to suggest that those with 15mm lenses try that one first.

    Description (from the manufacturer's literature)

The EZI Lens Applicator ring provides these unique features and benefits:

    • One finger lens insertion
    • Lens self-positioning
    • Less air entrapment
    • Proven safe and effective
    • Works with scleral lenses 15mm and larger
    • Flexible band fits most finger sizes
    • The EZi Lens Applicator ring is made of pliable medical grade plastic. The ring expands to accommodate a range of finger sizes.

Applicator ring (along with also just using my index finger)

A brilliant alternative when struggling with the plunger. My practitioner (I'm in UK) hadn't heard of them, but has now googled and ordered one for herself.

    Excellent !

I had very much difficult installing the scleral lenses with the typical rubber cilindre. It’s so unbelievably easy with the EZI lens applicator. Besides I don’t waste so much solution trying to insert them time after time. Honestly, It’s awesome!!

Best product for inserting Scleral Lens!

I bought this and it’s become my favorite. I’ve wore hard and soft lenses for the majority of my life and eventually had LASIK. Fast forward to now and my sight had deteriorated. Scleral lenses were the only lens I could use but I didn’t love the plunger when inserting them. I wanted to use my finger as I always had but scleral lens won’t sit stable on your finger. Insert the EZI Scleral Lens Ring! I’m buying a bunch more to have as backups!

This did not work out for me

I have been using the DMV Lumaserta to insert my sclerals with no problem. I don’t need a stand & do not have a problem lifting something to my eye. I thought this would be another option that would work for me. Unfortunately, it didn’t work at all. The “bowl” was too large & I couldn’t see most of the lens over the rim. That made placement difficult. Since I wear a toric scleral I needed the dots need to be in a certain position. I had trouble getting the lens to release from the cup. Since it wasn’t firmly in my eye, it fell onto the table. Sadly, The applicator ring went straight into the garbage.

    DryEyeShop

Hi Susan, I'm sorry to hear that the EZI Scleral Lens Applicator Ring didn't work out for you! This product works best with scleral lenses 15mm and larger. If your lenses are 15mm and smaller, the EZI Lens Applicator Ring (for mini sclerals & hybrids) would most likely work better since the bowl would be a smaller size.
