    Description (Rebecca's)

The See-Green product line has been a mainstay for many scleral lens users for more than ten years. It was developed to address the special needs of people who use large scleral lenses, and is uniquely helpful in many ways.

These products are an example of special niche products designed and refined by truly dedicated people. They are very thoughtfully designed and are manufactured to the highest standards.

    The lighted inserter

The Lens Inserter consists of a modified plunger with a green LED light and battery pack. It shines a green light up through the plunger.

Functionally, the hand-held lighted inserter can be a useful aid for lens application for any scleral lens user. Focusing on the light helps ensure that the lens will be centered on the eye and it helps reduce likelihood of bubbles, since proper centering also means less likelihood of too much spilled saline, so long as the lid spread is sufficient.

This device is particularly appreciated by people with low vision, and those with only one seeing eye, and those who struggle with lens centering for any reason at all.

Can you make your own?  People do. But there are safety issues involved - i.e. the combination of electricity and saline, near your eyes. Above all, make sure your lens provider has vetted any device you use with your sclerals. See-Green is a tried and trusted brand.

    The stand

Scleral lens stands hold the plunger with your lens, leaving you hands-free.

Rather than lifting a lens to your eye and relying on manual dexterity to keep the lens filled with saline and position it precisely in the center, you instead place your eye on a stable lens which is held by the plunger in the stand.

The stand performs two key functions:

    1. Allows for improved "lid spread", since you can use both hands for your lids.
    2. Holds the lens completely stable and full of saline throughout the insertion process.

These functions result in an improved lens application process as follows:

    • More successful and efficient (e.g. for new learners, fewer attempts required)
    • Less likelihood of bubbles in the lens (caused by spillage or incorrect lens placement)
    • More comfortable and less stressful process

Scleral lens stands are a comfortable, reliable way for most people to apply scleral lenses, but they are particularly helpful for those with special lens application challenges such as tremors and those who have difficulty keeping their lids spread wide enough.

    Indisputably best-in-class

So what's so special about THIS stand and THIS lighted inserter?

At first glance you might not appreciate all the effort that went into the design of these products. In this age of commoditized-everything, I think craftsmanship can easily go overlooked. Are there alternative stands? Absolutely - there are a few on the market (both cheap and expensive) and people are always making their own (and, as I said before, if you try that please be very careful). But for most people who use stands, this really is the best.

    Is this kit for me?

This particular kit is for people who need the light AND the stand. Both can be purchased separately.

Best purchase ever! Tried for two months to get my sclera lenses in before this purchase. Only took two days after I got it. Now I can get them in every day. So grateful!

          Excellent Inserter Option

I just received my first scleral lens and had purchased this product in advance. So far, it has been terrific! I’ve gotten my lens inserted on the first try every time. I would definitely recommend the See-Green system.

          Great product/Outstanding support

Blind in one eye, I was having a lot of difficulty getting my scleral lens in that eye to the extent that I started only putting the one in my good eye. Saw the light product, read the reviews and ordered. It came promptly but there was a malfunction so I called and the owner said they were closed for the holiday but he would see to it himself that a new product was shipped that same day. It arrived the next on a Sunday and I can now put the lens in both eyes because of the light that guides insertion. What a blessing! I can’t say enough about the owner as well- committed to actually helping people- something rare nowadays. Many thanks for making this product!!!

          See Green Light and Stand

I'm a brand new sclera lenses user, within my first month of getting them. So many problems with insertion because of my tiny eye lid closures. This was interesting to get, and use, and must admit I'm pleased with my own success rate to insert them. Patience is key, and so is relaxation instead of frustration. I've googled the model and how to use it, along with using it as a tool for insertion. I also like that it's travel along size, and ease with pouch it came in. Please don't get discouraged. This could be an amazing tool for your own success, especially for your vision.
