    Drug Facts

    Active Ingredients

    Ingredient / Purpose
    Dextran 70 0.1% / Lubricant

    Hypromellose 0.3% / Lubricant

    Uses

    For use as a protectant against further irritation or to relieve dryness of the eye.

    Warnings

    For external use only

    Do not use

    • if this product changes color or becomes cloudy
    • if you are sensitive to any ingredient in this product

    When using this product 

    • To avoid contamination do not touch of container to any surface
    • Do not touch unit-dose tip to eye
    • Do not re-use. Once opened, discard

    Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience

    • eye pain
    • changes in vision
    • continued redness
    • irritation of the eye
    • symptoms worsening or persisting for more than 72 hours
    Keep out of reach of children.

    If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

    Directions

    • Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.

    Other information

    Store at room temperature.

    Inactive Ingredients

    Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, zinc chloride, calcium chloride dihydrate, sodium bicarbonate, purified water and carbon dioxide to adjust pH. 

    NOTE: This inactive ingredient list was updated ~January 2024. The change was to the pH adjustor (previously listed 3, now just 1).

    Love Bion Tears

    I always keep one of the vials on my nightstand in case I wake up during the night and need to add moisture to my left eye. This has worked well for me until I get my scleral lenses inserted in the morning.

    I love that you ship quickly and orders are ALWAYS complete for all the various fluids I need. Thank you!

    the first eye drop in my regimen of many years!

    i have used bion tears forever it seems, being pretty much on my own when and happening at that time on a website suggested that it be a part an effective dry eye regimen.

    Didn't work for me

    Not all drops work for all people. I've lived with dry eye disease for more than 30 years, and I've found what works best for me through trial and error. I'm glad Bion Tears works for some people, but for me, it actually made my dry eyes worse. It didn't sting upon application, and it didn't feel bad initially, but after an hour or so, my dryness was worse than when I had initially put the drop in. I tried again, several times, but each time it was the same result -- the drop made my eyes worse. It was worth a try but it doesn't work for my eyes.
