OcuSci's microwavable compress has a machine washable cover which is very convenient. The material is supposed to hold heat and moisture longer. There's a little silicone-lined nose bridge that may make it more comfortable for some people.

In terms of the strap, it's inch-wide elastic with velcro. The velcro extends right to the end of the top strap which makes it slightly harder to detach, but otherwise it seems fine and reasonably comfortable.

Directions

Microwave for 20 seconds. Always touch with fingers first to test the temperature before applying to eyes. Do not exceed a maximum of 30 seconds of heating. Compress retains some heat for 30 minutes. If reused within 30 minutes reduce heating heating time by 10 seconds. For best results apply compress to eyes for 5 minutes per treatment. Cover is microwave and freezer safe. Air dry only.

Heat in standard oven: Heat at 240 Fahrenheit for 4 minutes.

Note: Compress can also be frozen and applied cold to treat swollen, puffy eyes. Place in the freezer in a plastic bag for at least 1 hour prior to using.

Care: Compress cover is washing machine safe; use gentle cycle and cold temperature. Air dry only. Wash the Dry Eye Compress by hand using a gentle detergent and cold water. Allow to air dry. Do not place the Dry Eye Compress in a washing machine or dryer. Wash immediately if exposed to food, oils, grease or other dirt.
