I thought I'd try this product because it is being marketed as simply "organic" glycerin with no preservatives. I'm not sure why the emphasis on organic (that distinction is usually limited to food products), but I thought I'd check it out.
The consistency of the drops seems okay, and the dispensing bottle isn't much different than others currently on the market. The package insert isn't too professionally done. Oddly, it says to lay the bottle on its side when storing (no reason for that is given), but the manufacturer's Web site doesn't include this directive anywhere (that I could easily find).
Secondly, most preservative-free multi-dose drops clearly state that they should be used within 90 days of opening the bottle to maintain purity and to protect against contamination and possible infection. There is no information about a 90-day limit on the packaging of this product. The expiration date printed on the bottle was over one year, but that is usually if the bottle is new and remains sealed. There is nothing about discarding if open after 90 days. I think there should be more clarity on the packaging about this.
Lastly (but maybe most importantly), there is no indication of which "organic vegetables" the glycerin is sourced from. Therefore, I sent an email to the company to find out. Dr Friederich responded very quickly (I give him 5 stars for his kind and quick reply :-), stating that the glycerin is derived from "certified organic corn." All well and good, unless…
