SIL-OPHTHO "H" is a heavy viscosity dimethylpolysiloxane silicone preparation. While it is too viscous for most prosthesis wearers, it is indispensable for some, and should be tried where SIL-OPHTHO (the medium viscosity) has not given adequate relief. Some person with poor lid tonus and, therefore, loosely fitting prosthesis use SIL-OPHTHO "H" continuously while others use SIL-OPHTHO (the medium viscosity) during waking hours, and SIL-OPHTHO "H" during sleep.
Instructions:
- Apply 1-2 drops of SIL-OPHTHO 3-4 times daily without removing the artificial eye, blink to spread evenly, rub the excess into the skin of both lids, and remove greasy appearance with cleansing tissue.
- TO CLEAN FRONT SURFACE OF EYE. Use a dampened cotton-tipped applicator, without removing the eye; inspect the lower lid by gently pulling it downward and remove any accumulated discharge with minimal rubbing. Do this as often as is necessary to maintain appearance.
- LEAVE THE EYE IN PLACE AS LONG AS IT IS COMFORTABLE- but remove it for either:
A. excessive external discharge if noticed soon after cleansing with the applicator (as in No. 2)
B. Unusual irritation that is not relieved with the usual addition of SIL-OPHTHO.
4. IF THE ARTIFICIAL EYE IS TO BE REMOVED FOR ANY REASON follow these four steps:
A. Wash hands thoroughly with special soap taking care to rinse it off completely
B. Remove the eye as usual and wash it with the soap, using finger tips - again rinse thoroughly
C. Dry the eye with cleansing tissue, then apply SIL-OPHTHO to the front and back surfaces
D. Replace the eye and add one additional drop externally; then follow step #1 above.
If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your physician. No refrigeration of this lubricant is necessary .
