     About Optase Dry Eye Spray

    • Eye lubricant
    • Preservative-free
    • Use within 3 months of opening
    • Contains hyaluronate and sea buckthorn seed oil
    • 17mL (0.58 fluid oz) bottle

    Description (Rebecca's)

Lubricating sprays can be really helpful for some people. There used to be a liposome spray or two on the market, but they disappeared years ago. It's nice to see something new and innovative in spray format!

You're supposed to spray it on closed eyes and let it seep in. I think dry eye sprays can be helpful in situations like these:

    • You have difficulty putting in drops, due to strong blink reflex, tremor, etc. Sprays are much more forgiving!
    • You need a little boost, but don't necessarily need to flood your eye.

It's supposed to be good for 300 doses, and it has to be used within 3 months of opening. That works out to about 3 uses per day for one bottle, so I think that's a reasonably economical way to get a bit of a boost without using up quite so many preservative free vials, for example.

It says it's compatible with all contact lens types. If any scleral lens users try it out I'll be interested to hear what they think.

    Helpful but strong

I would use this once a week. It is potent and builds up on the lashes. That’s just us, my husband has exposure from a palsy, so we must be careful.

Didn't help me, and it irritated my eyes quite a bit

I imagine this helps some people, but when used as directed it either didn't do anything for me or irritated my eyes more than they already were.

    I love this product

I'm new to PF eye drops. My ophthalmologist recommended I use them at my last eye exam, but she indicated that they were only available as a single-use product so I avoided making the change due to the waste. After my eyes getting much worse from the endless screentime during the pandemic, I tried looking into it again and found this (somewhat local!) shop that had quite a few options for multidose PF eye drops. I ordered this product and the Oasis Tears because they stated that they were free of animal products and I wanted to try more than to get a sense of my preferences.

I am someone that definitely struggles with putting eye drops in my own eyes (I have bad depth perception and a tremor), so the delivery mechanism of this product is much easier to use and less wasteful for me overall. Additionally, I love that also hydrates the eyelids because I have eczema and have started recently having flare-ups on my eyelids. I find that this product really helps clear eyelid eczema and prevent future breakouts (probably it's the glycerin and HA). Another benefit is that it really helps the eyelid rawness after crying or upon waking up. Personally, I just find the more "holistic" hydration very helpful. It is not super viscous or the type of eyedrop that needs time to "settle", so I still use a regular drop directly in my eye if my actual eyeballs are very dry but I use this product most often. I do not find that it needs to be wiped off at all actually UNLIKE regular eyedrops (for…

    Love it at night

It does take awhile to get use to it! Keeps eye moist all night and rarely have to use my silicone eye mask. Have to wipe excess from face usually but bottle still lasts about 3 months!
