    Description (by Rebecca)

My favorite tape - hands down. Absolutely worth the extra cost. When I need to tape a lid down, I apply one strip of the wider type vertically, pressing down the top downwards and removing it top down as well. Obviously not suitable for those with silicone allergy, but for the rest of us, it's about as eyelid/eyelash friendly as a tape can get.

Please note that there are a variety of tape application approaches. Vertical does not work for everyone! Believe it or not there are even youtube videos on the subject. Experiment till you find the method that seals your lids the most effectively.

    The Best Tape Ever!

I have severe dry eyes and one eye does not close completely at night and I have tried several different things to treat it, and this tape is the only thing that has helped. I have sensitive skin and this tape does not irritate it and with my eyelid taped closed when I sleep, my cornea is doing much better as well.

    Soft, comfy, not too sticky

This was my first time trying silicone tape (after using goggles at night for the past few years and getting tired of them leaking air at the sides where they gapped away from my face). I was pleasantly surprised, for the most part! The tape does a good job of holding my eyelids closed, but is easy to pull off -- and not painful, nor does it pull out eyelashes, as I saw in some reviews. It also stays sticky and reattaches easily and firmly.

I do need to change to fresh pieces nightly (can't get away with reusing tape from the previous night, as some reviewers apparently can), as the adhesive strength wasn't quite up to that.

I got the narrower width, and it doesn't completely cover my eye, but by attaching it diagonally across my eyelids, I get good enough closure.

I put in gel drops at night, and have noticed the tape does tend to detach a bit from my lids directly over my eyeballs by morning (possibly due to the gel or to my greasy skin). However, the ends of the tape still hold firmly and my eyes are protected even if they open slightly.

I do appreciate Rebecca's helpful YouTube video on how to attach the tape! That was a great reference the first time I used it.

I may give the wider tape a try next time, just to compare, but this one was pretty effective. And I appreciate not having to deal with the goggle strap sliding down the back of my head anymore.

    Best Tape for Eyes

I've tried several different tapes but this is by far the best one. It holds firmly, comes off gently, and you can even remove it and reapply it in a better position and it still sticks.

    Absolutely LOVE this tape!!

Because of an eyelid that didn’t seem to be completely closing during sleep, my eye doctor recommended 3M Transpore tape. That seemed to make a huge difference, but it I lost eyelashes in removal, and never could quite get the sticky residue off my lashes and eye area.

After searching for something easier to deal with, I stumbled onto Mepitac Soft Silicone Tape. Big difference in price, yes, but WOW what a difference in ease of use!!!

This tape comes off as easily as it goes on, and with absolutely no residue. I cut a full 2” piece of tape, and then cut it in half lengthwise. This covers half my eyelid, down past my eyelashes, and is a good secure fit. Maybe I shouldn’t admit this, but I save the tape backing and can reliably get three uses from each piece.

    I’m totally delighted.

    almost perfect

I have been trying out everything on this site for protecting my one dry eye at night. This tape was the last one and for me, it has been the best. It sticks well even though my eye is gooped up and there are potions and lotions on my skin. In the morning it is easily and gently removed. The only reason it's not a 5 star for me is that my lashes on that eye have become wonky; they grow in strange directions and some are now kinked. Ii'm sure its a result of all the taping though, not just one particular brand or type. The eye bubbles don't work for me so this is my best solution so far. Experimenting with adding a rolled up small piece of rayon gauze above my lash line and i am hopeful that will work.
