I consider taping the most reliable form of night dry eye protection - yes, better than goggles and masks. For practical reasons, though, nobody's going to choose this unless they really have to.

Mepitac is still my favorite tape - hands down. Absolutely worth the extra cost. When I need to tape a lid down, I apply one strip of the wider type vertically, pressing down the top downwards and removing it top down as well.

Obviously not suitable for those with silicone allergy, but for the rest of us, it's about as eyelid/eyelash friendly as a tape can get.

Please note that there are a variety of tape application approaches. Vertical does not work for everyone! Believe it or not there are even youtube videos on the subject. Experiment till you find the method that seals your lids the most effectively. Schedule a consultation if you need help.

Best purchase I've made this winter

My eyes have been killing me this winter! Usually Refresh PM and an eye mask is fine. This winter, that wasn't the case. I can sleep through the night now, and my eyes feel great all day. The achy eyes I had each evening while painting too were bothering me, and it's totally gone now.

Keeps my eye closed during sleep

I have a corneal erosion and I have struggled with finding the right tape. I am so glad I found this tape! Since using it the past 2 weeks, it has kept my eye closed all night. It is so easy to apply. I am so relieved I finally found a solution. I will be ordering it again!

too sticky and painful to remove for me

I must be the odd bird, because everyone seemed to like this tape! Leave it to me to find it unusable! I felt as if my eyelids were being torn off when I tried to remove it! Painters tape would be better! LOL!

Works great!

My eyes don’t close all the way when I sleep. Usually I use a sleep mask to hold my eyelids shut but unfortunately I haven’t been able to wear it lately because it’s bothering my eczema. This tape has been an amazing alternative and I will definitely continue using it! I’m able to get up multiple times per night, peel back the tape to use the restroom, and reapply no problem. It also hasn’t bothered my skin at all which is a huge plus.

Does the job

Although reluctant to use tape, goggles didn't provide enough moisture for my eyes. The tape keeps them closed and doesn't take my eyelashes with it when I take it off.
