This was my first time trying silicone tape (after using goggles at night for the past few years and getting tired of them leaking air at the sides where they gapped away from my face). I was pleasantly surprised, for the most part! The tape does a good job of holding my eyelids closed, but is easy to pull off -- and not painful, nor does it pull out eyelashes, as I saw in some reviews. It also stays sticky and reattaches easily and firmly.
I do need to change to fresh pieces nightly (can't get away with reusing tape from the previous night, as some reviewers apparently can), as the adhesive strength wasn't quite up to that.
I got the narrower width, and it doesn't completely cover my eye, but by attaching it diagonally across my eyelids, I get good enough closure.
I put in gel drops at night, and have noticed the tape does tend to detach a bit from my lids directly over my eyeballs by morning (possibly due to the gel or to my greasy skin). However, the ends of the tape still hold firmly and my eyes are protected even if they open slightly.
I do appreciate Rebecca's helpful YouTube video on how to attach the tape! That was a great reference the first time I used it.
I may give the wider tape a try next time, just to compare, but this one was pretty effective. And I appreciate not having to deal with the goggle strap sliding down the back of my head anymore.
