- Dry eye disease
These did not work for me
I purchased these in the hopes that they would give me an idea as to whether moisture chamber prescription eyeglasses would help with the dry eyes. My current glasses seemed like they would fit under the goggles. (I measured them.)
So, first, what I like about the clear goggles: the price was very good. And I really like the flexability of the material. Used with or without my eyeglasses, they will be useful as safety glasses. We are drywalling a second bathroom and these will be very helpful. If I only use them for that, the price is right.
Okay, now the negative stuff. My eyeglasses seemed to barely fit. That was, perhaps, a big factor affecting their effectiveness. The only way I could get an adequate seal was by shortening the head strap. But that, then, was too tight on my face. The goggles pressed on my glasses, particularly across the bridge of the nose, and quickly became very painful. Had they fit comfortably over my glasses and hadn't hurt, I still would not have liked them enough to wear them enough to help with the dry eyes. I couldn't get used to these huge things perched on my face. They felt awkward and were really distracting.
But while they were a real bust for me, they could work for someone else. The fact that they were so bad, though, prompted me suck it up (They're expensive!) and order a pair of Ziena Eyeware moisture chamber glasses. There is an eye care business near me that actually carries them so I was able to try them on. They do look geeky. But…
