It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

On a cross-trail at Paradise, enjoying early morning wildflowers and trees in the cool & damp.

Usually when we go to Dungeness Wildlife Refuge it's bright and sunny or dingy grey - always beautiful regardless of the weather. This time we arrive just as the mist is lifting. From the hill we couldn't see much, but by the time we finished our walk we could see almost to the lighthouse.   I always enjoy the driftwood on these Pacific or near-Pacific beaches.      

Panos and I drove up to Hurricane Ridge on Sunday morning and took a short hike. There is still a little bit of snow on the shady sides of hills there. There was a "cloud cap" over the mountain peaks but great visibility underneath it. The famous viewpoint above the parking lot has a panoramic view south over the Olympics but also looks north over the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Vancouver Island - sandwiched here between clouds: We enjoyed a walk along this trail -  Wildflower season is full tilt, though the most colorful ones we saw were at lower...

Thanks to a window seat, enjoyed some great views on the way back from the AOA meeting in Nashville last Saturday.
