In September 2025, my husband and I bought a house in the Edgewater neighborhood of Poulsbo. The key attraction was that I can now walk to work, which is a huge deal to me as I can't drive after dark and in the winter, our days are quite short here in the Pacific Northwest.
But... I also love our new neighborhood. Edgewater Beach is a private beach and a wonderful perk of this otherwise modest area. It looks west out across Hood Canal to the Olympic Peninsula where some of the mountains are visible, and it also affords a northeasterly view to the Cascades, where you can see Mount Baker.
This Saturday morning, after weeks of grey and rain, the weather was clear I enjoyed an early walk down to the beach.

Mount Baker (in the Cascade range northeast of us)

And of course waterfowl
