It's a jungle out there.

Amazon is rife with substandard eye drops, illegal imported eye drops whose origins cannot even be traced, and knockoffs and counterfeits. This is especially the case when there are shortages of popular products. Eye drops MUST be sterile, and that means we have to be able to know who's responsible for manufacturing them.

Did you know that in 2023, 4 people died and 18 lost their vision from eye drops that became contaminated during manufacturing? Learn more at eyedropsafety.org. Meantime: shop safely!

#1 rule of safe Amazon eye drop shopping:

Look for the official STORE for the brand, not brand:product name, under the product listing.

Purchasing from the official store should mean that you will receive stock sent from the manufacturer to Amazon. Not all brands have an Amazon store. If they don't, we recommend going to an online drugstore instead or buying direct from the manufacturer.

How do I find the brand store?

Here are some shortcuts.

Brand

Amazon store

Refresh Refresh Store
Systane Systane Store
Oasis Oasis Store
Eyeganics Eyeganics is not on Amazon.
Biotrue Biotrue Store
Optase Optase Store
Ivizia Ivizia Store
Genteal Genteal (Alcon) does not have an Amazon store.
We recommend purchasing from an drugstore (online or bricks & mortar) instead.
Blink Blink Tears Store

Soothe Soothe Store
Retaine  Ocusoft Store

p.s. "ships from, sold by Amazon" is now meaningless

At least for safety purposes! It is the origins of the product that matter.
