What do you wish more people understood about dry eye (or eye pain if that's your main issue) and how it affects people's lives?
At times I have to stop everything because my eyes are closed and I cannot open them. It is very painful. If I am driving I have to pull over and stop until the pain passes.

Numerous doctors refused to operate on my eyes for cornea transplants because they were so badly damaged. I found Dr John Sheppard at Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk Va to be willing to take me as a patient. As a professor he was extremely thorough and had other specialists associated with him. And willing to accommodate people coming from long distances for shorter periods of time.
