NK and retinal detachment surgery 3 years ago.

Dry eye at least 15 years
What do you wish more people understood about dry eye (or eye pain if that's your main issue) and how it affects people's lives?
People don't seem to understand the vision distortion, pain, using eye prescription eye drops. They seem to think that OTC drops are OK to use and don't consult an eye specialist. Even my husband doesn't seem to understand when I can't see something clearly. I don't know why this has happened to my good eye but it has been a rough 3 years using the prescribed drops by my Retinologist and having those drops damage the cornea because I needed to use them. I am still having vision problems especially night driving and now use a scleral lens with my prescription glasses. Reading has become an issue as well as reading my cello music for rehearsals, practices and concerts. A challenge!
