As of October 1, 2021, the United States Postal Service will implement new service standards for First-Class Mail® and Periodicals. These new service standards will increase delivery reliability, consistency, and efficiency for our customers and across their network.
Mostly, First-Class Mail® and Periodicals will be unaffected by this new standard. However, the Postal Service will increase time-in-transit standards by 1 or 2 days for certain mail that is traveling a longer distance.
What that means for us:
Seemingly, things should be relatively unaffected, unless the package has far to go. FCM should still arrive within 3-5 days, but plan for longer transit times for destinations outside the Pacific Northwest.
Things you can do:
Please plan ahead when ordering items you need quickly with these service standard changes in mind even if you don’t think your area will be affected by delays! We are still also dealing with some delays due to COVID, so order before you urgently need your items to prevent running out.
