Ring style lens inserter

Helpful alternative for insertion challenges

Check with your eye doctor about sizing.

I first stocked this product in 2015. To me, it looked and felt the thing that held the jewel-shaped hard candy when I was a kid. But there's a lot of people out there that have difficulty with lens insertion and need creative solutions.

In these past few years I've had more than enough feedback from actual users of the ring applicator to indicate it's an extremely useful tool for many people, though - like everything - not everyone.

I heard from a customer in 2018 with 15mm lenses who had difficulty with the lens not coming off the applicator. I contacted the manufacturer and they recommended trying the one with the smaller bowl - for mini sclerals and hybrids - so we are now stocking that one as well, and to be on the safe side I'm going to suggest that those with 15mm lenses try that one first.

The EZI Lens Applicator ring provides these unique features and benefits:

  • One finger lens insertion
  • Lens self-positioning
  • Less air entrapment
  • Proven safe and effective
  • Works with scleral lenses 15mm and larger
  • Flexible band fits most finger sizes
  • The EZi Lens Applicator ring is made of pliable medical grade plastic. The ring expands to accommodate a range of finger sizes.

I love my Scleral Ring!

The ring was like magic! I have a hand tremor, so the plunger or bare finger just didn’t work well for insertion of the lens.

It’s a bit pricey for the tiny ring it is, but worth every penny!

Best tool ever!

This ring makes putting my scleral lenses in so much easier. I can use the fingers on both hands to hold open my upper and lower lids.

The EZI Scleral Ring

After seeing the instructional video on the dry eye website, I purchased 2 rings. It's working beautifully, and I recommend people give it a try. It is almost the same as the regular contact lens insertion method. We patients who are new to scleral lens need all the help they can find. I have very small eyes so, insertion and removal are a challenge. Now I have my insertion issue going well, I'm working on finding a removal method. I just don't have much room in my eye to grab the edge easily. I get it done but will look for a better way. Thank you Dry Eye shop.

Very helpful!

I only have one hand and trying to put in the scaleral lenses has been challenging. After watching countless YouTube videos, I came across one that used the ring. I immediately ordered one and upon its arrival got right onto trying to insert the lenses. It only took me two try’s! I was excited and my eye doctor will definitely recommend it to her patients as well.

I am so happy to hear that the ring helped! Thanks for sharing!

Since you are one-handed I wonder if you might be willing to share any tips about how you manage lens removal? This is something we often get questions about especially from people who temporarily lose the use of one hand due to injury or surgery.
