Description (by Rebecca)

This is a specially shaped lens remover angled at 45 degrees so that your fingers are out of the line of sight while removing your lens.

Description (from the manufacturer's literature)

The DMV® 45™ was developed to improve viewing of the eye while removing and inserting GP lenses. The handle is angled at 45 degrees for better viewing.

With the DMV® 45™, Insertion and removal are done at 45 degree angle with the fingers out of the line of sight.

Usage and care

What is the DMV 45 used for?

Removing gas permeable lenses, including PROSE and sclerals. Not suitable for removing soft contacts.

Instructions for use

Removal

Moisten the suction cup of the DMV 45 and guide it to the eye. Be sure the contact lens is centered on the eye before removing it. Align the suction cup so that it is positioned in front of and parallel to the lens. When the suction cup touches the lens, gentle pressure will make the lens adhere to the cup. Merely take the contact lens from the eye. It is safe and easy. Notice that you are able to see in the mirror while doing this because the handle is out of the way.

After removal from the eye, carefully slide the lens sideways from the suction cup and it will come off easily.

Insertion

Place the clean moist lens on the insertion cup at the end of the handle. The lens will adhere in this position while being placed on the eye. Touch the moistened lens to the eye and it will quickly transfer to the eye from the insertion cup. Notice that you are able to see in the mirror while doing this because the handle is out of the way.

Precaution

In the event that the suction cup would be unintentionally attached to the eye, merely slide it to the outside corner and it can be easily removed by turning.

Keep this and all other medical devices away from small children. Use of this contact lens accessory product not recommended with diseased or injured eye.

Caution: This product contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.

Cleaning and care

Keep your DMV 45 clean by washing it frequently with warm soapy water. You may boil or autoclave the DMV 45 if you wish.

Warranty information

If you have suction problems with your DMV 45, we're happy to replace it.
