This drop is truly new, not just "new to the US" (i.e. part of the accelerating migration of dry eye products from Europe to the US). How often do we get a completely new eye drop... not very!
Optase MGD is, in effect, a sort of dry eye "combo drop". While glycerin is nominally the active ingredient, a cardinal unwritten and unspoken rule of artificial tears in the US is that the interesting stuff frequently gets tucked in the inactive ingredient list*. Optase MGD is a classic example.
Anyway, ingredients aside, the proof is always in the proverbial pudding. As we know in the dry eye world, everything works for someone and nothing works for everyone. If you try this let me know what you think, especially in comparison to other drops with any similar ingredients.
*This is in order to comply with dinosaur-era FDA regulations about artificial tears, otherwise known as the OTC Monograph (specifically for ophthalmic demulcents and emollients). In 2020, a law was changed that brings at least some hope of this eventually changing.
An advanced preservative free lipid-based drop for evaporative dry eye.
Advanced microemulsion of ingredients (Sacha inchi seed oil, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin) in a formula that is optically clear and non-blurring and that creates a low surface tension in the optimal volume for an eye drop 30ul.

These are great bed-time drops. I really like them for night time before i put my eye mask on. I wouldn't use them for daytime because they are somewhat thick. But I like them better than the Systane Complete for night time, which previously was my favorite.
Because they are thick, the dropper takes a little getting used to, but the liquid doesn't slide down the side like the systane does.

Love this! I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and my eyes feel much more comfortable. I wish I could have found it sooner.
I’ve used Systane, Xiidra, and Tyrvaya in the past but none are as hydrating as Optase MGD. This drop is very soothing and effective and it does not result in excess tearing. The only negative is that the oddly shaped dropper takes some practice and skill to use toward the end of the bottle.

My Dry Eye Clinic Doctor recommended this but didn’t have any samples to sell a month ago. Now they are discontinued. This product helped my eyes and gave relief after I tried soooo many other standard store dry eye drops that did not help MGD. I am using the optase purple pack intense dry eye drops which helps but plan to try the Oasis line per your emails that are so helpful.

Hi Cynthia, thank you for providing this feedback. Just to let you know, these drops have not been discontinued. They were on manufacturer backorder for a brief moment but we are actually expecting to receive more as of tomorrow!
