Systane Pro PF (10mL MDPF bottle)

Alcon's press release launching this product in Feb 2025 claimed that Systane Pro PF is "the longest lasting dry eye drop in the SYSTANE portfolio" with a footnote to "Alcon data on file". Boy, would I ever like to have a peep at that data. Meantime, it's all about your experiences. If you try this drop, let me know what you think.

Systane Pro is basically a cross between Systane Complete (the milky-looking emulsion drop) and Systane Hydration (the one with hyaluranon that comes in the retro shiny aqua box).

Since I happen to like Systane Hydration exactly as much as I dislike Systane Complete, it's no surprise that I think Pro is better than Complete and worse than Hydration. The thing about Complete that doesn't work for me is it somehow makes my eyes feel slightly gritty, or grainy, or I'm not sure what the word is. Systane Pro has less of that effect on me, as I would expect with the addition of the hyaluronan.

But that's just ME. This is about YOU. We are all different. This is all about comfort and how they feel.

If you have never tried either Complete or Hydration, I would encourage you to try Systane Hydration first.

If you have tried Complete and LIKE it, I would still encourage you to try Pro because the added hyaluranon might perhaps give you longer relief.

If you have tried Hydration and like it, I would say don't bother with Pro.

Uses

• for the temporary relief of burning and irritation due to dryness of the eye
• for the temporary relief of discomfort due to minor irritations of the eye or to exposure to wind or sun
• for use as a protectant against further irritation or to relieve dryness of the eye
• for use as a lubricant to prevent further irritation or to relieve dryness of the eye

Warnings

For external use only

Do not use

• if this product changes color
• if you are sensitive to any ingredient in this product

When using this product

• do not touch tip of container to any surface to avoid contamination
• replace cap after each use

Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience any of the following:

• eye pain
• changes in vision
• continued redness or irritation of the eye
• condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
• Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Directions

• Shake well before using
• Put 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed

Directions for using this bottle:

• Hold the bottle just below the cap and twist the cap to open.
• BEFORE FIRST USE, hold the bottle upside down and dispense one drop of product to discard.
• Shake the bottle downward to remove residual product (see picture on box)
• Place 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed and blink
• After use, shake the bottle downward to remove residual product that may be left on the tip (see picture on box).
• Replace cap after use.
• Discard 30 days after opening.
